OUR CONVERSATION WITH LARRY BARRETT OF BOOMTOWN CASINO IN ADVANCE OF THE HEARTLAND POKER TOUR: COMPLETE HPT SCHEDULE HERE: GCP:  Feels like you are going to have a big turnout this weekend.  Lots of locals, especially based off the 140+ players you had for Saturday's satellite, are coming.  HPT has a devoted following too.  We are looking forward to it.  Larry, you've been a fixture in poker on the Gulf Coast, especially New Orleans, for a while now. Tell us what you foresee for Boomtown Casino, will there be future poker events? LARRY BARRETT:  Yes, depending on the size of this event, we would likely expand for our next event. This event is limited to 20 tables and the events have been structured to accommodate that amount of players. GCP:   What are some of the current promotions and tournament offerings the Boomtown poker room has and will have after the HPT? LARRY BARRETT:  Our weekly promotions include Loyal Faces cracked on Sunday where players earn more money when these hands lose for the amount of time they played. $25 up to $100 for each of them incrementing $25 every two hours of individual play. High Hand Thursday is popular, adding $50 every half hour with and rolling it over every week with a minimum qualifier of aces full of tens. We also have Royal Flush Straight Flush daily, adding $50 & $25 respectively played on Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs. Weekly tournament every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7pm with $1000 guarantees. Buy-in are only $35 w/Reentry and $25 w/rebuys for $20 GCP:  Tell us a little bit about yourself, and how you got into poker? LARRY BARRETT:  Played Poker my whole life and went to a casino one day after my children had grown up and moved out. Watched how much money the dealers made for what they were doing, back then dealing Stud and Omaha, no too much Holdem and decided to go to school to learn procedure. GCP:  What's your favorite game? LARRY BARRETT:  I like Omaha high only, it just doesnt like me….. GCP:  Who are some of Boomtown's regs that you think might surprise the incoming pros and have some results this week? LARRY BARRETT:  Anyone of our weekly players as they are a staple to our tournaments. Most of them though a small group play each Tuesday and Thursday. GCP:  What are some of the food offerings players on the property for players during breaks? LARRY BARRETT:  Great menu available to our guests during this event. A players lounge area will be set up with prices that they will enjoy…. GCP:  Will the players lucky enough to still be alive in the Main Event during the Super Bowl have a chance to watch the games?
